Young Art & Music Festival

Event Design

Plan an interaction for the well-known neighborhood Lake Claire in Atlanta so that children in this area can have the opportunity to show their artistic and musical talents.

The complete process is at the bottom.

Lake Claire in Atlanta is a high-quality community. There are about 40% of the youth population here, and there are elementary schools and high schools nearby. The geographical environment is superior. But most activities in the community are aimed at adults. There are very few events for children or young people, and the park in this community has a very large open space for events. So I planned this Young art and music festival.

In my observations, the park covers a very large area and has a wide range of activities. As the central part of the neighborhood, the park site is not well used.

If youth events are held on the grounds of the park, it seems feasible. Apart from sports and dog walking, the young people who come to the activity do not have too many other activities on the park grounds.

In order to get the best picture quality, I bought a 1936 Remington Noiseless Typewriter from Facebook. I personally photographed all its angles.

• The proportion of people from 5 to 26 accounts for about 42%.

• 5–18 years old youth from kindergarten to middle school. considered with the school nearby.

There are many excellent schools next to Lake Claire. If art and music activities can be held, it can attract many talented young people and children.

The problem is that the neighborhood lacks enough venues for activities and commercial stores for young people. In the entire neighborhood, only lake claire park is the only entertainment venue.

Conclusion of Problem

• Lack of youth events or activities.

• The park has a large venue for activities, but it is not used very well.

Purpose

• There are artistic schools and schools for children with disabilities in the neighborhood.

Plan

It is planned to hold a "Young Art & Music Festival" for this neighborhood. Teenagers in this neighborhood or nearby areas can come to this festival to show off their artistic talents. Tickets will be obtained for free on Lake Claire's official website. At the scene, young people who come to participate in the festival will be provided with drawing tools and a venue for singing and dancing. Free T-shirts and free drinks and food will be provided on site.

We hope that through this festival, young people can make friends while showing their artistic talents. We also encourage special groups to join the festival, because art has no boundaries.

Contents

In Art Area, the paintings of school students or residents’ children will be collected for exhibition on the day of the festival. If youth wish, they can also auction it and we will donate the proceeds to charity. And will provide painting courses, and the staff will paint still life together. At the end, they will play together freely and draw a banner for Lake Claire Neighborhood.

In Music Area, staff will organize children's band performances, and teenagers can also bring their own instruments and form a band to perform on stage. At the same time, bands and choirs from nearby schools are invited to perform musical performances during the event. All participants can get backpacks and T-shirts, and we will provide free drinks and food.

I want to make a logo with the appearance of Musical Instruments and brushes. I've tried using geometric shapes to form a logo for text. Geometry, as the basic element of the painting, can be used as a component of the logo.

I'm trying if I can combine notes and brushes to form a logo, which needs to match the name of the Festival. It can be seen from the sketch here that I am trying to combine the words A and M with geometric shapes to form a logo.

Taking geometry as the basic element, through different combinations, different patterns and characters are formed. It expresses that every teenager and child is like these geometric elements, simple but individual. When these geniuses get together, they will create different things.

Spread special events in the event in the form of social media. For example, free lunch, free T-shirts and so on.
